    The Financial Coordinator is responsible for recording and paying agency's approved monthly bills, preparing monthly reports, (Board, DHEC, grants, month-end, etc.) prepare bi-monthly payroll and related information (taxes and paid time off), assist with the yearly budget planning with the Finance Committee and Executive Director, assist with the yearly audit, and prepare and file quarterly tax reports. 

    Qualifications:

    • Conscientious and trust-worthy  
    • Computer skills and knowledge of QuickBooks software 
    • Knowledge of operation of standard office equipment. 
    • Knowledge of general accounting / bookkeeping practices

    Essential Responsibilities:

    • Refine and maintain operational budget and other financial records on QuickBooks. 
    • Manage payroll including twice monthly pay checks, changes in IRS regulations, individual deductions. 
    • Manage payroll taxes for state and IRS.   
    • Produce monthly invoices to donors with approval from Executive Director. 
    • Produce monthly financial reports for Executive Director, Board and committees. 
    • Establish and maintain system for billing SOVA for forensic interviews and counseling services. 
    • Support Executive Director by developing systems that adhere to audit recommendations regarding billing and payroll procedures. 
    • Assist Executive Director in development of annual operating budget, revisions and/or contingency plans. 
    •  Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.

    The Family Resource Center is a team of passionate, family-oriented individuals dedicated to the mission of eradicating child abuse, sexual violence and teen pregnancy in our community. We provide advocacy, counseling, forensic interviewing and crisis intervention in an individualized, innovative and victim centered manner. 

    Qualifications: 

    • Training in the skill of forensic interviewing or the ability to hone skills around gathering reliable information of children  
    • The ability to establish rapport and create trauma informed spaces through language, tone and actions  
    • A license to diagnose and treat clinical issues. The following licensures qualify for this position – Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Master Social Worker, Licensed Clinical Social Worker 
    • Two years of experience in clinical counseling 
    • Experience working with child and adult victims of abuse is preferred
    • Essential responsibilities:  
    • Familiarize yourself with the grant funding for your position. This includes knowing the objectives, indicators, restrictions, budget, etc. 
    • Provide full range of therapeutic services including crisis, individual, and group counseling, as well as referrals for survivors of sexual assault/child abuse and neglect, and their family members.  
    • Provide forensic assessments including forensic interviews. 
    • Provide case management services including maintenance of client files for assigned case load.  
    • Assist clients with legal and personal advocacy;  
    • Assist crisis staff in hospital accompaniment and crisis calls as needed in the office and in the after-hours on-call rotation;  
    • Conduct trainings for community collaborative partners; 
    • Ensure quality of client services by tracking and monitoring client retention and satisfaction with services;  
    • Ensure grant objectives are met and documented;

    Position Summary

    Overseeing all clinical staff (Forensic Interviewers and Therapist) providing clinical support and engagement. Goal setting with clinicians on a bi-annual basis with follow-up to insure they are growing and maturing in their clinical fields, while tracking continuing education requirements and insuring fulfilment of all areas of requirement to obtain or maintain status as a fully licensed and credentialed provider. Forensic interviewing of children and adolescents from ages 3 to 18, and/or vulnerable adults, who are alleged to be victims of physical and/or sexual abuse.  Both acute and chronic cases of abuse are assessed; as well as exposure to violent crimes and domestic violence. Interviews are conducted using research-based, nationally recognized protocols/techniques in a developmentally appropriate manner to assess victimization; and to provide legally defensible information.  Interviews are conducted in a manner that is legally sound and of a neutral, fact finding nature, and are coordinated to avoid duplicative interviewing. Therapy of children age 2.5 through adults. Primary areas of therapy concerns are trauma related with specific focus in evidence based treatment. Primary therapy population is children through teens but supportive caregivers are serviced. 

    Specific Responsibilities

    10. Provide on-call coverage as needed.
    11. Maintain all related therapy documentation.
    12. Scheduled and coordinate monthly clinical staff meetings.
    13. Insure all clinical staff adhere to all requirements to be fully licensed and credentialed.
    14. Assist, when needed, a clinician in helping them obtain all requirements for licensure and credentialing.
    15. Work closely with the Intake Coordinator to track case loads, billing procedures, etc.
    16. Monthly blind audits of files to insure compliance.
    17. Provide training as needed to MDT, community, referrals and clinicians.
    18. Other duties as assigned.
    19. Provide services at CARE House main site or other locations as needed.                

    Qualifications: Master’s Degree in Counseling, Social Work, or other counseling related field is mandatory. Licensure as an LPC, LPCS, LISW or related credentials is required, with preference going to applicant capable of supervising others in the licensure process. Completion of forensic interviewing training, such as Child First South Carolina, is preferred but, not required. Training and strong support of evidence based therapies, such as TF-CBT and PCIT, is heavily preferred but not required. Individual must have the ability to become an integral part of a coordinated investigative team.  At least five years of experience working with children and families preferred. Three years fully licensed needed, with at least 1 year supervising others. Ability to relate to children of different races and socio-economic backgrounds is essential.  Experience with and/or a working knowledge of crisis intervention techniques, sexual abuse, child development, and the criminal justice system highly preferred. Additional requirements include: a nonjudgmental approach that reflects cultural competency and sensitivity to the unique needs and diverse experiences of individual children and their families, the ability to engage and maintain positive relationships with clients and staff, the ability to develop collaborative relationships with other providers, effective interpersonal communication skills, the ability to assess and intervene within complex family and community systems, and a willingness to be flexible, patient and creative.

    Job Description:

    The Community Coordinator will work in collaboration with judicial and child welfare leadership, community partners, and stakeholders to plan, implement, market, manage and evaluate the local Safe Babies Courts Team (SBCT). In an effort to effect community and system's change, the Community Coordinator facilitates coordination and collaboration among community stakeholders, organizes and facilitates Family Team Meetings, provides community-wide and Infant-Toddler Court Team (ITCT) specific educational opportunities, tracks monthly follow-up activities for each cases monitored by the ITCT, conducts on-going data collection for outcome tracking, and champions for the voice of infants, toddlers and their families within the child welfare and court's jurisdictional purview.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Supports the development of policies and procedures to implement the local Infant Toddler Court Team (ITCT)
    • Creates connections with community partners to recruit for and develop an Active Community Team (ACT)
    • Supports Judicial Leadership in the convening and facilitation of the monthly ACT meetings to promote collective impact for systems change
    • Engages families early in the SBCT process and ensures that their input is valued throughout their child welfare/court journey
    •  In collaboration with ITCT partners - develops, compiles, creates, and distributes ITCT communications and promotional literature
    • Supports the neutral facilitation of, and documentation for, a multi-disciplinary team that meets monthly to assist children and their families in developing strategies to mitigate the circumstances that brought them to the court’s attention
    • Acts as a liaison for identifying community-based resources and supports and disseminates the information to other agencies and families
    • Seeks creative solutions that address barriers families face in accessing formal and informal supports to complement case management services
    •   Develops relationships with community providers to explore referral processes and problem solve methods to expedite access
    • Models practice that enhances a highlighted focus on the unique developmental needs of infants and toddlers and their families
    •  Actively participates in community-based initiatives that correlate with the ITCT mission and promote the wellbeing of young children and their families
    •  Assesses the community’s training and Technical Assistance needs and serves as a liaison with the National TCP and local content matter experts for the provision of educational opportunities to meet those needs
    • Works with the local judiciary, Child Welfare leadership and ITCT to implement the SBCT Core Components and adhere to best practice policies
    • Remains current on latest research/best practice recommendations/policies and distributes/disseminates information to the ITCT and community regarding such
    • Supports the ACT to engage in continuous quality improvement to evaluate the ITCTs effectiveness by collecting and interpreting data and on-going reflection of practice through data exploration and strategic planning
    • Networks and communicates with Community Coordinators in other ITCP communities
    • Performs other duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the SBCT and the National ITCT

    Skills and Experience:

    • Experience with community collaboration to effect systems change
    • Background in infant/early childhood development or related field
    •  Ability to work and make decisions independently
    • Knowledge of issues related to child abuse and neglect
    • Working knowledge of racial equity, historical trauma, poverty, intimate partner violence, child and adult development, parental history of childhood trauma, mental illness, substance use disorders, and developmental and intellectual disabilities
    • Knowledge of the Social Determinants of Health and local resources available to assist families in making connections to achieve them
    • Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary group
    • Working knowledge of early child development and infant mental health
    • Knowledge of Protective Factors and how to incorporate them in community capacity building and case planning
    • Knowledge of juvenile and family court functioning
    • Facility working with people of diverse educational, professional, socioeconomic, and ethnic backgrounds

    • Minimum 5 years of professional experience focused on services for vulnerable young children and their families

    Preferred:

    • In-depth knowledge of infant/toddler social-emotional development and the impact of abuse and neglect

    • Experience working with juvenile and family court judges
    • Skills in collecting and interpreting data

    COLUMBIA, S.C. – Governor Henry McMaster was joined today by Lieutenant Governor Pamela S. Evette, members of the General Assembly, and children advocacy leaders for a ceremonial bill signing of S.229, the Child Abuse Response Protocol Act. The act establishes a statewide protocol to effectively and efficiently respond to child abuse cases.

    The legislation formalizes the use of Children's Advocacy Centers and Multidisciplinary Teams in the statewide response to child abuse and will help to ensure that all children have access to the trauma informed evidence based services that Children's Advocacy Centers provide regardless of where they live in South Carolina.

    The Family Advocate is responsible for providing advocacy services to child victims and their families when sexual abuse and/or physical abuse has been alleged to the children and their families being served by the Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) and to the Edisto Children's Center. The Family Advocate answers directly to the Child Advocacy Center Director. 

    Duties and responsibilities may include but not limited to:

    • Maintain confidentiality
    • Make initial contact with the family once an interview is scheduled and answer any questions that may arise
    • Provide crisis intervention for victims and their families referred by law enforcement and child protective services
    • Perform safety assessments of the family and develop or recommend a safety plan with the victim and family
    • Coordinate services with community resources to provide relief from barriers to services for the victim and family 
    • Maintain contact with the victim and family throughout the investigation and prosecution when requested by family and law enforcement
    • Attend all MDT meetings and be prepared to facilitate in the absence of the MDT Coordinator. 
    • Maintain and update case records in agency database. NCAtrak.
    • Remains current with literature and child abuse services
    • Assist with trainings to the community and collaborating partners
    • Receive all referrals and information on all cases of abuse referred to Edisto Children's Center
    • Attend all case staffing
    • Other duties as needed

    Qualifications:

    • BA, BS, or BSW degrees and at least (3) years work experience. Master's preferred
    • Bilingual in Spanish and English strongly preferred
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
