Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) is an evidence-based treatment for children, adolescents, and their caregivers to address trauma-related behavioral and emotional problems. Research shows that TF-CBT successfully resolves a broad array of emotional and behavioral difficulties associated with single, multiple and complex trauma experiences. The Children's Advocacy Centers of North Carolina (CACNC) and the South Carolina Network of Children's Advocacy Centers (SCNCAC) have been awarded a collaborative grant from The Duke Endowment to meet the increased demand for Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and delivery of TF-CBT via a Telehealth model. This grant will result in the training of 150 Children's Advocacy Center associated clinicians in North Carolina and South Carolina.
What to do next:
There will be two TF-CBT Training Cohorts in 2021. The first cohort began in March and is well underway. The second cohort will begin in October. If you are interested in the second Training Cohort, please review the Cohort 2 training flyer to the right which will give you information on program requirements for the Cohort and specific date information for Training Cohort 2.
If you are a therapist associated with a SCNCAC or CACNC member Children's Advocacy Center in South Carolina or North Carolina and you are interested in participating in Training Cohort two, please contact your CAC Director or Supervisor for approval. Once you have been approved, you will receive a registration code and other information needed to prepare for the start of the Training Cohort.
If you are a CAC Director interested in having therapists at your CAC, or therapists that provide therapy services for your CAC clients through linkage agreements, attend this training, you should have completed a survey earlier this year. Please contact us for registration codes. There are a limited number of stipends that may be provided to participating CACs for therapist training time and for purchase of iPads or other tablets for the Telehealth delivery of TF-CBT services.
Below you will find registration information for TF-CBT Cohorts, TF-CBT surveys, TF-CBT Web 2.0, and registration information for standalone Telehealth delivery training sessions. It is important to note that the delivery of TF-CBT via Telehealth sessions are included in both TF-CBT Cohorts one and two so if you are registering for either of the Cohorts, you do not need to register for the standalone Telehealth session. The standalone Telehealth sessions are designed for CAC Therapists who are already certified in and providing TF-CBT services who wish to receive training in delivery of TF-CBT via Telehealth. You will need a registration code provided by SCNCAC, CACNC, or your CAC director to register for any of the sessions below. If you have been approved for training and do not have a registration code, please contact us.

CAC Director Survey
*TF-CBT Cohort 1 and 2 are separate TF-CBT trainings and successful completion of only one Cohort will meet all training and clinical consultation call requirements for National Certification in TF-CBT.
**The information provided in the Telehealth Delivery Sessions is a part of the training provided in the TF-CBT Cohorts 1 and 2. The only individuals who should register for either session of Telehealth Delivery are therapist who are not participating in Cohort 1 or 2 because they are already certified in and providing TF-CBT services at there CAC. In this case you would only need the Telehealth delivery session 1 or 2, and you will need to obtain a code from CACNC, SCNCAC, or your CAC Director to register.
